# Payments: charge customers through your Stripe

> Connect the company's Stripe account, create Pix or card charges, send the payment link and track subscriptions.

## What it is for

With **Payments**, the company charges customers from the conversation and receives the money in its **own Stripe account**. The money goes straight there, with no platform fee: only Stripe's fee. Each charge is linked to the contact and, if there is one, to the deal.

## Who can do it

* **Owner or Admin** connect and disconnect the Stripe account (this is what the server accepts).
* **Owner and Admin** issue charges, resend, remind and cancel.
* Anyone who is not an Owner or Admin sees the message that the screen is restricted, or only the status.

It appears if the agency has enabled the Payments module for the organization.

## Where to click

In the menu, open **Payments**. The screen's side menu has **Overview**, **Charges**, **Subscriptions**, **Products** and other sections. The Stripe connection is also in **Settings** › **Payments**.

## Step by step

**1. Connect Stripe**

In **Payments**, click **Connect Stripe** (in Settings, **Connect with Stripe**). Stripe opens in a new tab; finish the sign-up and come back. It takes about 5 minutes: company tax ID (CNPJ) or personal tax ID (CPF) and a bank account.

**2. Wait for the account to become active**

With "Verification pending", you can create drafts, but you can only issue charges once the account becomes **Account active**. Use **Complete on Stripe** if something is missing.

**3. Create the charge**

Click **Charge** (or **New charge**; there is also a Charge button in the conversation). Choose the contact and the deal, describe the item, enter the **Amount** and the **Due date**, and check **Pix** and/or **Card**.

**4. Review and send**

Check the message and click **Issue charge and send**. The link goes into the customer's conversation. If it does not send, use **Copy link**.

**5. Track it**

Under **Charges**, see the status of each one: **Open**, **Confirming**, **Paid**, **Overdue**, **Expired**, **Failed** or **Canceled**. Click to open the details.

### Subscriptions

To charge every month or every year, use **New subscription**. It is card only: the customer saves the card once through the link and Stripe charges each cycle (**Monthly** or **Yearly**). Under **Subscriptions**, **Manage** lets you **Cancel at cycle end** or **Cancel now**.

### The customer's page (/pay)

Whoever receives the link opens a page with the amount, who is charging and **How would you like to pay?**. They choose Pix (QR code or **Pix copy and paste**) or **Pay by card**, which opens Stripe's secure page. After payment, **Payment confirmed** and **View receipt** appear.

## What happens next

* The payment shows up by itself as **Paid**. Pending automatic reminders are canceled.
* With **Generate new link** you renew an expired link; with **Cancel charge**, the link stops accepting payment.
* Times appear in your browser's time zone (the screen shows "Times in your time zone").
* If you disconnect Stripe, new charges are paused and open links stop accepting payment.

## Common errors

* **"Connect the company Stripe account to issue charges."** Connect it first.
* If the connection is refused for lack of permission, ask the Owner or an Admin of the organization.
* **"This Stripe account is already linked to another organization."**
* **"Stripe has not enabled charges on this account yet."** Finish the verification.
* **"This contact has no WhatsApp on file."**
* **"The due date can be up to 60 days away."**
* **"The charge was created but not sent."** Use **Copy link**.
* **"Company details are missing in Settings › Payments."**
* **"A reminder was sent recently."** Wait before reminding again.
