# Short links and Link in bio

> Create short links with a QR code that count clicks, and build your bio links page.

## What it is for

* **Short link:** an address like `/l/name` with a QR code that takes people to the destination and counts every click. You can change the destination later without changing the QR code you already printed.
* **Link in bio:** a page at `/b/name` with buttons (WhatsApp, booking, form, and social network links such as Instagram or TikTok; these are only links, not Inbox channels). Use it for your social media bio and for cards.

## Who can do it

Short link: everyone can see them; anyone who is not an Operator creates and edits; only the Owner and Admin delete. Link in bio: only the Owner, Admin and Supervisor can change it. Everyone else sees it without controls ("Only Owner, Admin and Supervisor can change Link in bio").

It appears if the agency has enabled the Tracked links submodule (short links) or the Link in bio submodule (the bio page).

## Where to click

**Marketing › Links**. The list on the left has the **Link in bio** card at the top, followed by your links. Use **Search name, address or destination…** to filter.

## Step by step

### Create a short link

**1. New link**

Click **New link**.

**2. Fill in the details**

Enter the **Name (internal)** (only your team sees it), the **Short address** (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens) and the **Destination**, starting with `https://`.

**3. Save**

Click **Create link**. "Link created!" appears.

**4. Use the QR code**

At the QR icon, click **Download PNG**. To see clicks, open **Analytics**.

To change the destination, use **Change destination**. The link and the QR code stay the same.

### Build the Link in bio

**1. Open the card**

Click **Link in bio** and then **Create page**.

**2. Page details**

Choose the **Profile picture** (an image, or a color and icon), the **Name** and the **Tagline**.

**3. Buttons**

Click **Add button** and choose the type: WhatsApp (choose the **Box** and the opening message), Book, Form, Catalog, Social network or Link. Drag to reorder.

**4. Publish**

Check the **Preview** and leave the page live. Copy the **Short address** or download the QR code.

## What happens next

Every click is counted and goes into the analytics (by day, source, device and browser). The Link in bio button shows the clicks from the last 30 days. Changes to the bio are saved automatically. Links show up as a source in the Marketing Overview.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Changing a link's short address breaks the QR code you already printed. When you edit, keep the option to redirect the old address checked.

## Common errors

* "Fill in the name, address and destination."
* "The address /l/... is already in use. Choose another one."
* "Use a full address, starting with https\://"
* "Use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens (2 to 48)."
* "Link not found": the link may have been paused or removed.
* "Page unavailable": the bio page was paused or does not exist.
* Bio button "Not shown on the page": the inbox, calendar or form it was linked to was removed or disconnected.
