# AI keys and media reading

> Add the keys of the AI providers and turn on reading of audio, images and PDFs.

## What it is for

Under **Settings › Artificial intelligence** you add the key of each AI provider (**OpenAI**, **Groq**, **Gemini**, **Fish Audio**) and turn on the Copilot's **media reading**: transcribing audio, describing images and summarizing PDFs the customer sends.

The key serves the Copilot, the Agents and Voicer AI. Set it up once per provider.

## Who can do it

**Owner and Admin** can change it. The other roles can only view. The **Agents** and **Voicer AI** items in this area depend on the modules enabled by the agency: when they are missing, the screen says "Talk to your agency".

## Where to click

**Settings › Artificial intelligence**: **Copilot**, **Agents**, **Voicer AI** and **Keys and providers**. **Copilot · media reading** opens from the link inside the Copilot page. Shortcut: in the AI Agents, **Keys and providers live in Settings**. Keys are stored per WhatsApp; choose the WhatsApp in the selector.

## Step by step

**1. Open Keys and providers**

Choose the WhatsApp under **Select WhatsApp**.

**2. Paste the key**

On the provider, click **Add**, then **Paste the key** and save. "Key saved" shows up. Once saved, it is never shown in full again.

**3. Turn on media reading**

Under **Copilot · media reading**, turn on each type: **Audio (Transcription)**, **Images (Description)** and **PDFs (Summary)**. Choose the **AI provider** for each one.

## What happens next

When turned on, the received content is processed and the text shows up next to the message. The Agents use the **Organization keys**, which apply to all inboxes and take priority over the inbox key. Only the last 4 characters of a key are shown.

## Common errors

* **No API key configured for the provider.** Add one in **Keys and providers**; without the key, the provider does not show up to be chosen.
* **That key does not look valid.** Check it and try again.
* **Failed to save key** / **Failed to remove the key.**
* **Removing the key** makes the inbox's Copilot and Agents stop until you add another one.
* **Couldn't load the keys** or **media reading.** Use **Try again**.
* **Search key missing.** The agent's knowledge base needs an OpenAI or Gemini key.
