# Contact record

> View and edit a customer's data, use tags, related contacts, Do not disturb, and block or unblock sends.

## What it's for

The record gathers everything about a customer: data, chats, deals, tasks, and booked times. From it you can also chat, create a task and a deal, and control which sends the contact receives.

## Who can do it

* Open and edit: whoever can see the contact. People who only see their own customers open only the ones that are theirs.
* Change the contact's owner: Owner, Admin, and Supervisor.
* **Merge with another contact**: Owner, Admin, and Supervisor.
* **Delete contact** and **Export data (LGPD)**: Owner and Admin.
* Change **Related**: whoever has access to the record.
* Blocking, archiving, and unblocking depend on your profile's permissions. If the item doesn't appear in **More actions**, ask a manager.

## Where to click

In **Contacts**, click a person. At the top of the record are **Chat**, **Call**, **Book**, **Task**, **Deal**, **Edit**, the **Tag** button, and the **More actions** menu. Below is the summary (open deal, last chat, next appointment, tasks) and the **Timeline**. In the side column are **Channels**, **Owners**, **Related**, origin, **IMPORTED**, fields, and consent. **Call** and **Book** appear if the module is enabled.

## Step by step

**1. Edit the data**

Click **Edit**. The window has blocks: **Identification**, **Contact**, **Address**, **Relationship**, **Do not disturb**, **Billing**, **Custom fields**, and **Notes**. A single **Save** saves them all.

**2. Use tags**

Click the **Tag** button and check or uncheck. To create a new one, type the name in the search and use **Create new tag**.

**3. Link related contacts**

In **Related**, click **Add**, search for the contact, and choose the role: **Guardian**, **Dependent**, **Spouse**, **Partner**, or **Other**. Label and note are optional. On the other person's record, the reverse link appears. It's useful, for example, to book on behalf of a child.

**4. Turn on Do not disturb**

In **Edit**, open **Do not disturb**. Check the channel (**WhatsApp**, **Call**, or **Email**), choose the reason and, if you want, the date in **Until**. Without a date, it lasts until you uncheck it. Broadcasts and automations don't send; you can still reply normally.

**5. Block or unblock**

Open **More actions**. There are two options:

* **Block from sends**: the person doesn't receive broadcasts, mass messages to groups, or flow sends. Choose the reason (**Asked to opt out**, **Complaint**, **Wrong number**, or **Other**) and click **Block**. If they write in, the chat arrives normally. To release them, go to **Blocklist** and click **Unblock**.
* **Block contact**: the system ignores their new messages. They don't open a chat, don't notify, and don't trigger flows. The history stays. To bring them back, use **Unblock contact**.

## What happens next

* People on Do not disturb get a badge on the record and in the list. The **Do not disturb** filter in the list finds these people.
* People who were blocked show the **Blocked** badge and the **Contact blocked** notice, and go into **Blocked**.
* **Archive contact** removes the person from the list, the search, and sends; chats and history stay. Use **Unarchive** to bring them back.
* **Merge with another contact** shows a preview and only merges when you click **Merge contacts**. You can **Undo**.

## Common errors

* **This phone already belongs to ...**: another contact already uses the number.
* **Incomplete phone. Use area code + number, e.g. (11) 98888-7777**
* **Invalid email. E.g. [name@company.com](mailto:name@company.com)**
* **A contact with conversations cannot be deleted. Archive it.**
* **Only Owner/Admin can delete.**
* **Already linked: ... is already related.**
* **Couldn't block. Try again.**
