# How to create a flow from a recipe

> Turn on a ready-made automation in a few minutes by answering up to 5 questions.

## What it is for

A **recipe** is a ready-made automation for your business. You answer up to 5 questions, test it, and turn it on. You don't need to build blocks.

It appears if the agency enabled the Flows module for the organization.

## Who can use it

Only people who edit flows turn on recipes: the **Owner** and **Admins**. Other roles see the screen with the notice "Only people who edit flows can turn on recipes." and "Ask an account admin."

## Where to click

In **Flows**, **Recipes** tab. You can filter by goal (**Scheduling**, **Sales**, **After-sales**, **Relationship**, **Groups**, **Billing**, **Other**), by **Niche**, and by **Channel**, or search in **Search recipe…**.

## Step by step

**1. Choose the recipe**

Each card shows what it does, the message preview, and how many businesses already use it. Click **See the recipe** or **Use this recipe**.

**2. Answer the questions**

Choose which inbox to send from and fill in what the recipe asks for. The message preview appears with sample data.

**3. If it's Official WhatsApp, choose the template**

If the customer hasn't talked to you in the last 24 h, the approved template you choose under **Choose the template** is sent. Or use **Turn on anyway, only for people who talked to me in the last 24 h**.

**4. Turn it on**

Click **Turn on**. If you want to check first, use **See the design**.

## What happens next

"“recipe name” is on" appears, along with the **See in My flows** button. The recipe becomes a regular flow: you can open it in the [Flow Editor](https://docs.stchat.app/en/subcontas/editor-de-flows.md) and adjust it. If you want to start without a recipe, use **Start from scratch**.

## Common errors

* **This recipe uses X.** The module isn't enabled. Use **Ask the agency**.
* **Connect an inbox to use recipes.** Message recipes need a connected channel. Use **Connect an inbox**.
* **This inbox needs an approved template.** Outside 24 h, Official WhatsApp only sends a template approved by Meta. Use **Send a template for approval**.
* **This recipe needs the X contact field.** Use **Create the field** and fill it in on contacts; without it, the flow won't run.
* **Refer and earn is off.** That step stays as "Not sent" until you turn the program on. Use **Turn on Refer and earn** or **Turn on anyway**.
* **Without a Google profile, the review request is skipped.** Connect the profile in Reputation.
* **Add your mobile number in Profile to receive the test.** Message shown by the **Test with me** button; if the screen shows that testing is under maintenance, it is not available.
* **Choose which inbox to send from.** The inbox is missing.
* **Check the highlighted answers.** Some answer is incomplete.
* **This recipe is no longer available.** / **Recipes not available yet. Try again later.**
* **Nothing was created. Try again in a moment.** General failure; nothing was turned on.
