# How to delete an organization

> The two ways to delete a client: Request deletion (24 hours, can be canceled) and Delete now (immediate, no undo).

## What it is for

To delete a client's organization. There are two paths: scheduled deletion, which gives you 24 hours to change your mind, and **Delete now**, which deletes right away.

## Who can do it

* **Request deletion…** and **Cancel the deletion**: the agency Owner and Admins. Only the Owner can request deletion of the agency's main organization.
* **Delete now**: only the agency Owner. The Admin sees guidance to use "Request deletion…".

The client's owner can't delete their own organization: they receive an email with the agency's brand, unless they were the one who made the request.

## Where to click

**Organizations**, open the client and go to the **Deletion** tab.

## Step by step

### Request deletion (24 hours)

**1. Click Request deletion…**

The screen shows the timeline: **Now**, the organization is blocked (nobody signs in and nothing is sent); **Within 24 h**, the agency can still cancel; **After 24 h**, the organization is permanently deleted.

**2. Confirm**

Type the organization name and write the **Reason** (5 letters or more). Click **Request deletion**.

To change your mind before the deadline, go back to the tab and click **Cancel the deletion**.

### Delete now

**1. Click Delete now**

The notice says: "This is immediate and permanent." There is no 24-hour wait, and it can't be canceled or recovered.

**2. Confirm**

Type the organization name, write the reason and click **Delete now**.

> For safety, the request needs a sign-in made less than 15 minutes ago. If the notice appears, use **Sign in again**.

## What happens next

With scheduled deletion, the organization is blocked right away and appears as "Being deleted". In this state it does not accept changes. The screen shows the date when it will be deleted.

What keeps existing, according to the screen:

* WhatsApp numbers and connected sessions;
* external integrations (CRMs) and shared files;
* statements and receipts already issued, in the Audit log and in Get paid.

If the client has open charges or statements, the window warns that deletion does not cancel them.

## Common errors

* "The typed name does not match."
* "The cancellation window has passed."
* "Only the agency Owner can delete right away. Use Request deletion… (24 h)."
* "Only the agency Owner requests deletion of the main organization."
* "Deletion is turned off for this organization."
* "Could not complete. Try again."
