# How to create an organization (New client)

> Step-by-step guide to the New client wizard, which creates the client's organization in 5 steps.

## What it is for

Each client of the agency is an organization. The **New client** wizard creates that organization and takes you all the way to WhatsApp connected, in 5 steps. You can stop and continue later: the draft is saved.

## Who can do it

Only the agency Owner and Admin create clients. Someone in read-only mode (for example, inside an **Open as client** session) sees the notice "You are in read-only mode: clients cannot be created."

## Where to click

In the portal, open **Today** and use the **New client** shortcut, or open **Clients › Organizations** and use **New organization**. The screen's address is `/agencia/clientes/novo`.

## Step by step

**1. Client data**

Fill in **Company name**, **Owner name** and **Owner e-mail**. The owner gets the invite under your agency's brand and joins as Owner. **Company ID (CNPJ) or CPF** and **Owner WhatsApp** help, but the CNPJ or CPF can be left for later (it goes to the billing record).

**2. Plan and price**

Choose the plan the client will use. The cost is what you pay STChat. The price is what the client pays you. Under **Price for** (the client's name), the plan's default value appears, and you can change it just for this client. **Setup fee (once)** is optional and is charged on the first statement. If there are no plans yet, use **Create plan**.

**3. Start with**

Choose an official kit, an agency template or **Blank organization**. The kit creates tags, quick replies and a pipeline already set up. It does not bring contacts or chats, and nothing that already exists with the same name is replaced.

**4. Owner invite**

The owner joins as Owner and you stay as the agency Admin. Choose **Set a password now** (you hand the access to them) or **Send an email invite** (they create their own password). The invite can also go through the agency's WhatsApp, by email, or you can just copy the link. The link is valid for 7 days and works only once.

**5. Connect WhatsApp**

Use **Scan now** to read the QR code right away, or **Send pairing link** so the owner connects from the company phone. This link is valid for 24 hours and works only once.

## What happens next

The organization is created and appears in **Organizations**. The final screen shows "Invite sent to" the owner's email and warns that WhatsApp still needs to be connected. Use **Connect WhatsApp** or **See organizations**.

Creating the organization does not assign an instance on its own. Step 5 uses a free instance from the agency. See [How to link an instance](https://docs.stchat.app/en/agencias/vincular-instancia.md).

## Common errors

* "No free slot. The agency uses X of Y organizations." Use **Buy more organizations**.
* "Enter the company name." and "Enter a valid e-mail."
* "Invalid CNPJ or CPF. Check the numbers." and "Invalid WhatsApp. Include the area code."
* "Pick a plan to continue."
* "The chosen kit no longer exists. Pick again."
* "The client was created, but the invite did not go out. Try resending in Team."
* "We are already creating this client. Wait a moment."
* "Only the agency Owner and Admin create clients."
